A new gravity-fed winery to bring out the best in our grapes

To guarantee the full potential of our berries and enhance the precision of our great wines, an ambitious project is about to be launched on our estate: the construction of a high-quality gravity-fed winery, rare in Sancerre…

A single site, equipped with state-of-the-art technology

In July 2022, the Domaine Brochard vineyard was strengthened by the integration of new parcels. Now covering 89 hectares throughout the Sancerre appellation, our vineyards include three wineries at Chavignol, Château de Fontaine-Audon and Château de Thauvenay.

Bringing these different production sites together in a single location soon seemed essential. Chavignol, the historic heart of our Domaine, was also a natural choice. Ultimately, it was obvious that this unique winemaking site deserved infrastructures capable of raising the quality of our Sancerre wines even higher.

Thus the project for a new gravity-fed winery was born, incorporating some of the most advanced equipment in the region, as well as an area dedicated to parcel-based vinification with small vats, amphorae and barrels.

An inauguration for the 2025 harvest

To complete the construction of the winery, the first phase of work will start in October 2024 to build the external roads and the pressing center. The second phase will start in November 2024. It will be devoted to interior work, installation of the winery, thermoregulation and chiller.

By August 2025, the new winery will be ready to receive the harvest, preserving every single berry and reducing the use of sulfur. The site will also offer our teams greater safety and ergonomics.

Last but not least, this inauguration will mark the start of new tours, allowing you to immerse yourself even more deeply in our world and our Sancerre wines…
