Anne-Sophie Brochard - Domaine Hubert Brochard

Wine Manager

For Anne-Sophie, a native of Chavignol, Domaine Hubert Brochard is home turf. Deeply attached to its terroirs, she brings them to life in the winery, helping to keep her family’s winemaking tradition alive.

Formative beginnings

Despite her close ties to the Sancerre region, Anne-Sophie embraced the opportunity to explore new horizons early in life. Keen to discover different ways of working with wine, she took a post-secondary diploma in viticulture and oenology in Beaune, before gaining a degree in oenology in Bordeaux. And she didn’t stop there. Keen to learn about completely new approaches to winemaking, her next move was to the cosmopolitan climes of New Zealand.

A woman at the forefront in Chavignol

In 2009, Anne-Sophie returned to her family’s wine estate to work alongside her father Daniel and her sister. Building on her expertise, she soon made her mark on the Domaine as the first woman to join the board of the Confrérie de Saint-Vincent de Chavignol and, above all, the first woman from the Brochard family to work in the cellar.

“For the Domaine, vinification is not the start of a new story. It builds on the work done in the vineyard by giving a voice to our terroirs.”
